Hand Dying and Painting

Last week I took my first dip into hand dying fabrics with pretty neat results. After the onesies are dyed Im going to hand paint and applique them.

I wish I would have taken some pictures of the glorious mess you an make with fabric dyes. Its honestly so much fun and something I think I'll be doing a lot more of.

Next time I dye I'll remember to take pictures for you.

I think once I get this whole thing figured out it will come very much in handy. There are these farbenmix style outfits I want to make for my girls and how better to find a matching solid than to dye it yourself.

First baby outfit project

I picked up this adorable bright popsicle fabric because it was so cute and looked like something my sister in law would like. In the wee hours of this morning (finished at 4:15. Sound familiar?) and then later today I sewed this romper for her baby. I love the way the jean pocket came out with bright green decorative stitching and the monster applique. I hope it blends in ok. I wish I had done the neckline and armholes in the jean fabric but that was done a long time before I had the idea for the pocket. Oh well, its still super cute. I know it looks a bit lopsided in the pictures but it actually is not :)
